Community Outreach
MMEC provides monthly grocery support to individuals and families in Alexandria facing food insecurity, especially seniors, low-income households, and ALICE-status workers.
- Alexandria has thousands of residents living below the ALICE threshold.
- Rising food costs continue to strain many households, especially those on fixed incomes.
Monthly Food Distribution
-
Typical distribution supports 35–75 households per month.
-
Each household receives 18–25 lbs of groceries, including produce, proteins, and shelf-stable items.
- Volunteers assist with packing, distribution, intake, and helping residents carry groceries.
Donate or Volunteer
Help us provide nutritious food to our neighbors. Donations of food or financial gifts are always appreciated, and volunteers are welcome to assist with packing, distribution, and community outreach.
