Hello friends of Jazz at Meade! This is Robyn and Vaughn of Yellow Door Concert Series. We are so grateful for our partnership with the Jazz at Meade Family, and we are trying to extend that to even more lovers of this true American Artform. We are presenting a concert at the end of January and wanted to invite you all to join us as well.
Join us and Band Leader Baron Tymas for his DMV album release concert for “Have You Ever Seen the Sun''. Baron, born and raised in Reston VA, is a graduate of Howard University and is joining us from his current role as Coordinator of Jazz Studies at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.
This album is about regaining a sense of wonder about what this world gives us. Given the conflict, environmental problems, inequity and other challenges before us, optimism can seem delusional, but hope is essential. This album, Have You Ever Seen the Sun,is about seeing, hearing, and reclaiming wonder and awe—lighting paths to find a way. The music comes from three sessions in the US and Canada in 2022 and 2023 and features inspiring musicians from both countries.

We are thrilled to host this concert at Meade Memorial Episcopal Church, home of the long running Alexandria staple concert series, “Jazz at Meade”. In partnership, we are working hard to introduce live Jazz, and to find innovative ways to engage our community. We hope you will join us for this incredible performance, at this historically significant location and help us to keep this music tradition alive and well.
This is a ticketed event, for both the live performance and the live stream. $25 in person and $10 virtual and College Students $10. Students 18 and under will be admitted at no cost with the purchase of an adult ticket and require an RSVP using this link: STUDENT RSVP!
