Renowned saxophonist and composer, Dr. William E. Smith, and members of the W.E.S. Group, will bring to the Jazz at Meade audience a jazz repertoire of jazz classics, standards, and religious inspired works.  Dr. Smith, the son of an Episcopalian clergyman and jazz enthusiast, meshes religious themes and jazz into wonderful compositions.  One of his most recent recordings is a jazz mass.  Besides being a talented musician and composer, Dr. Smith is a professor of jazz studies.  He is engaged in ethnomusicology and music instruction on the college level.  Join us for a musical treat.
