GOSPEL TRUTH CHOIR

“WE ARE CALLED TO BE OPEN TO THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST
IN OUR LIVES AND THE WORLD” JOHN 1:43-51

Organized in the fall of 1989 under the direction of Eudora Lyles Forrest, the Gospel Truth Choir has sought to incorporate the soul felt tradition of African American music into Black Episcopalian worship. The choir performs both contemporary and traditional gospel music as well as Negro Spirituals and traditional Episcopal music.

The Gospel Truth graciously accepts invitations to share their ministry of music, whether performing at churches of other denominations or for faith based civic venues. Within the Episcopal Church Community, the choir often leads worship services at neighboring churches and has ministered jointly with choirs in prayer and praise services.

The Gospel Truth members attend local and regional music workshops, understanding the need to nurture their gifts and to remain OPEN to the precious force of teamwork, earthly guidance and The Holy Spirit.
